Early Man Jailed on Drug Charges

Bond is set at $59,000 for an Early man arrested on drug and assault charges. Police say they stopped 32-year-old Justin Early on County Road 381 as he was fleeing from the scene of a suspected domestic assault and found he possessed methamphetamine and marijuana.

Early Crash Critically Injures Girl

A five-year-old girl is critically injured in a Tuesday night collision. Early Police say 31-year-old Kimberly Nethery was on Early Boulevard when she lost control of her pickup truck rolling it over twice. The girl was not restrained and she was ejected from the vehicle.

Counterfeit Money Suspects Sought

Authorities in Brown County are looking for two suspects passing counterfeit money. The man and woman used fake twenty dollar bills at a number of businesses making their getaway in a gray full-size pickup truck with stolen nicense plates.

Speeding Driver Arrested For Drugs

A speeding driver in Brownwood ends up being arrested for drug possession. It happened Sunday in the 1100 block of Austin Avenue when the officer detected a marijuana smell coming from the vehicle after pulling the driver over. The driver’s name was not released.

Bangs Man Charged With Child Sexual Assault

Bond is set at $100,000 for a Bangs man charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child. Police say 31-year-old Jared Tyler inappropriately touched a six-year-old girl last month while the child was staying at the home of a woman Tyler knew. He was arrested last week.

Two Women Arrested After Brownwood Theft

Two women are in trouble for shoplifting at the North Brownwood Walmart where they had been banned from entering. Police say it happened Saturday and the unidentified women were caught after leaving the store. The two were arrested for trespassing and possessing stolen property.

Goldthwaite Ax Becomes Drug Bust

A car crash in Goldthwaite ends up becoming a drug bust. Police say they responded to a minor two-car acciedent on Fisher Street and officers detected a marijuana odor from one of the vehicles. A search uncovered numerous controlled substances including cocaine.

Brown County Now Has Text To 9-1-1

Brown County now has text-to-9-1-1 service. It’s designed for those in a situation where it’s not possible to call for help such as a domestic violence incident. Authorities say to call when you can, text when you can’t. The service is expected to expand into other counties.

CAS Open On Limited Basis

The City of Comanche Animal Shelter is currently open and operating. Access to the animal shelter is controlled due to a critical infrastructure being at the same location. Those wanting to adopt or surrender an animal will need to make an appointment at 325.356.5685.

Brownwood Man Takes Plea Deal During Trial

A 19-year-old Brownwood man being tried for two sexual assaults takes a plea deal. Prosecutors say Dustin Aguirre pleaded guilty Friday and will be sentenced to concurrent 14-year prison terms. Aguirre also pleaded guilty to a related prostitution charge.
